Corporate social responsibility

Unlike most other oil companies, SOCAR has included large and significant departments responsible for social and ecology services throughout its history.

In recent years, SOCAR has dedicated increasing resources to the ecological management of the Caspian Sea and there are also significant investments ongoing in social housing and health projects.

The company has participated in construction of treatment and diagnostic centers in 10 regions of Azerbaijan. In March 2001, SOCAR was awarded the Arch of Europe Award for Quality and Technology at an award ceremony in Frankfurt, Germany. SOCAR also received New Millennium Award in July 2000 in Paris. The award is an international award for quality presented on behalf of 14,000 entrepreneurs from 112 countries.

For SOCAR, corporate social responsibility is much more than a marketing or public relations issue, it is part of the very legacy and nature of the company.
