Besides its core marketing and trading mission, SOCAR Trading is responsible for assisting its parent company in the international expansion of SOCAR’s asset base.

SOCAR Trading does so in three different ways, namely:

1. Investing its own equity capital in mid-cap oil production and logistics projects worldwide
   
   
2. Assisting SOCAR with international deal sourcing, representation, analysis and negotiation support on large-cap acquisitions
   
   
3. Structuring, optimising, trading and operating around SOCAR group companies  

SOCAR Trading has been active in all three of these areas since it began operations in 2008 and besides has concretely started making its own investments starting in mid-2010 with the construction of a 645,000 m3 oil product terminal in Fujairah UAE.
